HNLU Raipur Secures Top Honours in International Moot
A team from Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur has emerged victorious in the 4th Sports Arbitration Moot Award Competition, 2026-27. The winning team comprised Mahi Agrawal, Siya Gupta, Ambati Nupur Rao, and Atharv Sharma, who were awarded a monetary prize of EUR 1,000 for their performance.
The competition is an extension of the 5th Sports Arbitration Moot, requiring participating teams to draft a detailed arbitral award based on the pleadings and arguments advanced during the oral rounds. This unique format tests participants on legal reasoning, procedural fairness, and award drafting—skills integral to actual sports arbitration practice under institutional rules such as those of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The victory underscores HNLU’s growing reputation in international arbitration education and reflects rigorous academic training in sports law and dispute resolution. The competition attracted entries from across India and Southeast Asia, making the win a significant achievement in the domain of mooting excellence.
