RBI Releases Dated Securities Issuance Calendar for H2 2026-27
The Reserve Bank of India, in consultation with the Government of India, has released the indicative calendar for the issuance of Government of India dated marketable securities for the second half of the financial year 2026-27 (October 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027). The calendar includes both regular dated securities and Sovereign Green Bonds (SGrBs).
The objective of releasing an advance calendar is to enhance transparency, provide predictability to investors, and support deepening of the government securities market. Institutional investors, including pension funds, insurance companies, and foreign portfolio investors, use the calendar for asset-liability matching and portfolio planning. Retail investors also benefit from advance notice of bond availability.
The inclusion of Sovereign Green Bonds underscores the government’s commitment to sustainable finance. Proceeds from SGrBs will be earmarked for environmentally beneficial projects such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate resilience. The RBI will conduct auctions through normal competitive bidding, with non-competitive segments available for small investors. The calendar reflects a steady pace of borrowing, aligned with the revised fiscal deficit target for the year.
